Died peacefully at St. John’s Hospital, Maplewood on Sunday evening, August 30, 2015 at the age of 88. Daughter of Michael J. Walsh and Mary Ann Hillan Walsh; sister of Jeanine Walsh, all deceased. Rosemary is survived by first cousin, Patricia McHugh (Minneapolis); and other cousins, James and Joseph Crowley (New York), Sheryl Kabat (Sandstone), Carol Jean Schreier (St. Paul), Fran Stark (Wisconsin); dear and longtime friends, Leo Burke, Raymond Moser, Peggy Cochran, Barbara Kochsiek and Fr. Jim Deegan, OMI. Rosemary, a graduate of Good Council Academy in Mankato and the College of St. Catherine, enjoyed a long career as a teacher and student-favorite in the Minnesota Public School System, teaching English and Music. Upon retirement, she increased her focus on charitable giving and the promotion of Catholic pastoral activities, particularly spiritual retreats at Christ the King Retreat Center in Buffalo, MN and the support of African missions at her parish, the Church of St. Peter in North St. Paul. She was a leadership donor to her parish, the Archdiocese of St. Paul & Minneapolis, Catholic Charities, Catholic Call to Action and the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, OMI. Since 2005, Rosemary was an active member of the Missionary Oblate Partnership and was declared an Honorary Oblate in 2008 by the Missionary Oblate General Superior in Rome. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret St. N, North St. Paul with visitation one hour prior to the time of the Mass at church. Rosemary will be interred next to her parents and sister at Calvary Cemetery in St. Paul. In lieu of flowers or memorials, gifts are requested to the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, c/o Fr.
