EAST TAUNTON – Sarah R. (Rapoza) White, wife of the late Frank White, died at Morton Hospital on Aug. 28, 2015.
She was 101.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mary E. (Domingos) Rapoza.
Raised and educated in Dighton, she lived most of her life in East Taunton.
She was employed by the former Ansonia Mills for over 23 years, later working for Reed & Barton Silversmiths, retiring in 1981.
A communicant of Holy Family Church and Women’s Guild member, Sarah was also a member of the East Side Seniors and the Raynham Sociable Seniors.
She was an Our Daily Bread volunteer and enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, crocheting and traveling.
Surviors include her son, Richard F. White and his wife Debra of E. Taunton, 4 grandchildren, Richard White and his wife Lisa of E. Taunton, Raymond White and his wife Paula of Raynham, Sarah Hartung and her husband Keith and Cheryl Wetherell, all of Taunton; 4 great grandchildren, Jenifer, Mathew, Joshua, and Sarah; a great-great granddaughter, Janessah; 2 godchildren, Judith Souza of N. Dighton and Gail Egan of CT; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Francis E. White, and the sister of the late Cora Frank, Georgianna White, Rose Bejelki and Mary, Manuel, John and Joseph Rapoza.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway Taunton on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church, East Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 1st from 5 to 8 p.m.
