Anthony J. Turco, age 87, of Haverhill, formerly of Lynn, died at home Aug. 28 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Franklin, Mass., he was the son of the late Antonio and Alvena (Piere) Turco and the husband of Gloria P. (Capozzi) Turco, with whom he would have shared 60 years of marriage in November.
He attended public schools and was an avid bowler, card player and attended Foxwoods frequently. He was the owner of the Mandle Roofing Co. before retiring. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Steven, and his wife, Christina Turco, of Newmarket, N.H., and one daughter, Patricia, and her husband, John Whatley, of Tewksbury, four grandchildren, Paige Turco, Jeana and Andrea Cuzzupe and Coleen Whatley. Also several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Lee Turco, Phyllis Miragila, Rose Calabufalo and Dorothy Mammolette.
Service information: Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the NADWORNY FUNERAL HOME, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, Mass., on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn, at a later date. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MS Society of New England, 101A First Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
