Obituary

Phyllis R. (Randolph) Gibson, 79, of Franklin, died August 27 in the Blaire House of Milford.
Born in Boston, August 6, 1936, the daughter of the late Halsworth D. and Phyllis O. (Weems) Randolph Mrs. Gibson was raised and had lived in Roxbury for many years before moving to Canton where she lived until moving to Atlanta, Georgia in 1989 where she was until moving to Franklin in 2003.
She had been a secretary of H.F. Hunter, Company in Franklin for several years. She had previously worked for the CDC Foundation and the Georgia Pacific Corporation in Atlanta.
Phyllis loved to travel and was a scrabble aficionado. She was an accomplished oil painter. Phyllis was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Sunbeams of the Franklin Federated Church. She was a very fashionable and sociable lady who enjoyed being with her friends.
She is survived by her children, Monica L. Gibson of Franklin, Wayne Gibson and his wife Sherry of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Wesley M. Gibson and his wife Kimberly of Atlanta, Georgia and was the mother of the late Weldon M. Gibson.
She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Porter and Theresa Boles of Atlanta, Georgia.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Madeline R. Gibson, Isaac W. Gibson, Weldon M. Gibson and Kyla G. Gibson and was the Aunt of 5 nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and nephews and 12 great- great nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 1 in the Franklin Federated Church at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Monday from 5 - 8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street, Franklin.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Franklin Federated Church, 171 Main Street, Franklin, MA 02038.
