Obituary

Barbara L. (Sherwood) Keating, 82, of Londonderry, NH died Friday August 28, 2015 in the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, N.H. surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Milford, Mass, on November 16, 1932, a daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Howland) Sherwood. She was a resident of Londonderry for the past ten years, formerly living in Lynn, Mass, Barbara was employed as a Registered Nurse at Lynn Hospital and later at Greater Lynn Senior Service, both of Lynn, Mass. A member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary for 29 years, she also volunteered for the Red Cross as a CPR and First Aid Instructor. She was a former parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Lynn and more recently of St. Jude Parish, Londonderry.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Richard V. Keating, Sr. of Londonderry, three sons, Richard V. Keating, Jr. and his wife Linda of Goffstown, N.H., Russell A. Keating and his wife Julexy of Manassas, Va., James E. Keating and his wife Debra of Milford, N.H., two daughters, Catherine M. Ross of Goffstown, Maureen G. Callahan and her husband Robert of New Ipswich, N.H., 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her brother Edward Sherwood, her sisters Phyliss M. Kellom and Dorothy I. Kay-McLaughlin, and her son-in-law, Robert E. Ross.
Calling hours were held Monday August 31, 2015 from 4 to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Committal services followed in the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H.
