John Louis Guidone, age 80, died peacefully on August 27th, 2015 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Plymouth, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband of Lorraine (Aldieri) Guidone. Born in New Haven, CT, on May 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Guidone) Guidone. He received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University, and did his post graduate work at Fairfield University, Fairfield, CT. For most of his life Mr. Guidone worked as an Administrator in Special Education for the Westport Board of Education in Westport CT. John also taught art at Southern Connecticut State University and was an accomplished artist in many media forms. John proudly served in the U.S. Navy as an air controlman from 1955-1957. He and Lorraine shared time between Port Saint Lucie and Plymouth, previously residing in Orange, CT. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and boating as a few of his favorite hobbies. Besides leaving Lorraine, his wife of 52 years, John was the loving father of Jay Guidone and his wife Sherri of Walpole and Paul Guidone and his wife Elizabeth of Portsmouth, RI. He was the beloved brother of the late Robert Noel Guidone and also leaves his three cherished grandchildren; Jake, Julia, and Eva. Visiting hours will be held at the Davis Funeral & Cremation Home, 619 State Rd , Manomet (Plymouth) on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial service in the funeral home at 12:00 noon.
