Edward Winston Chase Allen, 93, of Tiverton died Monday, August 24, 2015 at home after a brief illness. He was husband of the late Myrtle Mazelle (Gray) Allen.
Born in Dighton, son of the late Edward and Edna (Tripp) Allen, he had lived in Tiverton for most of his life. Prior to retirement, he was a machinist at Sarama Lighting. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the U.S. Army 422nd Infantry Division. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was taken as a prisoner of war. Mr. Allen was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church, American Ex-Prisoner of War, 159th 106 Infantry Division Association, Battle of the Bulge Inc., American Legion RI Post 0102, Disabled American Veterans, Independent Order of Odd Fellows Seaconnet Lodge 39 and the Social Lodge 11, Little Compton.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
