Robert “Bob” Hargreaves was granted his angel wings on August 24, 2015. His final hours were spent peacefully surrounded by his loving family Mr. Hargreaves was born July 14, 1939 in Lawrence, MA to Ellen and Seville Hargreaves. Bob enjoyed nature and exploring the world by land and sea alongside his longtime love and wife Charlotte, whom preceded him in death in 2014. His love of life, sense of humor, and incredible stubbornness got him and all of us through many ups and downs. He was loved by all who met him near and far and will be dearly missed.
Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957 and went on to serve in the United States Navy. He then retired from a longtime career at Raytheon.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter Deborah Hargreaves, son Scott McLellan and brothers Seville and Jack Hargreaves. Bob is survived by sons Shaun McLellan and wife Helen of Lawrence, MA and Gary Hargreaves of Fitchburg, MA as well as sister Katherine (Kay) Latulippe of Methuen, MA. Also survived by his many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. A funeral procession will take place on Friday, August 28, 2015 from the funeral home, family & friends may report at 10:00AM. A military burial service will follow at 11:00AM at the Immaculate Conception Chapel/Mausoleum in Lawrence.
