Obituary

SALEM - Gerard O. LeBel, 93, of Methuen, formerly of Salem, husband of the late Emily (Phillips) LeBel, died Saturday, August 9, 2015 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre, Methuen, MA.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Raymond) LeBel.

A WWII veteran of the Coast Guard, he served from 1942 to 1946 and attained the rating of Seaman First Class.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Maynard Plastics and Almy’s Department Store in Salem for many years.

A lifelong resident of Salem until moving to Methuen, he was a member of the Canadian Klondike Club and the Lafayette Associates, and was a parishioner of the St. John The Baptist Church, all of Salem.

He is survived by his youngest brother, Andre LeBel and his wife Barbara of El Cajon, CA, two sisters-in-law, Evelyn LeBel of Beverly and Therese C. LeBel of Rowley, several nephews and nieces, including Donald R. LeBel II of Pelham, NH and Ann Armstrong of Salem. He was the brother of the late Donald, Raymond, Romeo, and Alfred LeBel and half sisters, Cecile Helliwell, and Regina Ouellette.

ARRANGEMENTS: In accordance with Mr. LeBel’s wishes, there are no services. Arrangements are by the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem.
