Fredrick Richard Gill
January 17, 1924- August 16, 2015

Fredrick Richard Gill, 91, of Anderson, died Sunday August 16, 2015 at Community Hospital Anderson.

He was born January 17, 1924 in Clarksburg, Indiana, to Raymond C. and Hattie M. (Schmidt) Gill. He was an Anderson resident since 1947. He was employed with the railroads, working for Penn Central and Conrail as a trainman and freight conductor. He retired as a yardmaster in January 1985 after 42 years of service. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was a long time member of the 40&8, a 50 year member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, the Scottish Rite, George Hockett American Legion Post, and the VFW. He was a member of Waldron Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Lucille (Adam) Gill on February 14, 1998. They were married June 6, 1946 in Shelbyville. His son John Richard Gill and son-in-law Peter Weigand also preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Ann Weigand of Anderson, several cousins, nephew Steven H. Sherman, several other nephews and nieces, close family friends David Gudkese, Steve Cooper, Gary and Blake Neal, and his dog, "Sophie."

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 27th, at 6 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Richard True. Friends may visit at the funeral home 2 hours prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Madison County Humane Society, or the Fellowship Masonic Lodge.
