Manuel Couto, age 55 of North Dighton, lost his battle with brain cancer on August 21, 2015 at the Mary McCarthy Center in East Sandwich. The son of the late Norberto Silvestre doCouto and the late Maria Conceicão (Almeida) Couto, Manny is survived by his wife of 32 years Maryann (Pontes) Couto, two daughters, Amy and Christine Couto, brother, John S. Couto, sister, Mary A. Botelho, and several nieces and nephews.
Born on August 16, 1960 in Arrifes, São Miguel, Açores, Manny worked for over 25 years for National Grid. A man who never stayed still for long, Manny enjoyed endless DIY projects, hunting, making and drinking wine, baseball and spending time with his close friends and family members. Manny will be remembered for his sharp wit, sarcasm, and loyal friendship.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
