Mary E. Lindberg, 72

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Mary E. (Bagarella) Lindberg, age 72, of Mansfield, formerly of Marshfield and Sharon passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Richard D. Lindberg, to whom she was wed on July 3, 1966.
Born in Cambridge, MA on December 20, 1942, she was a loving daughter of the late Peter R. and Mary E. (Russo) Bagarella. Mary grew up in Watertown and Sharon, was a graduate of Sharon High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Bridgewater State College.
Prior to starting her family, Mary had taught math in the Wrentham public school system and later worked as a Cost Accountant for the Cliflex Bellows Corporation in South Boston, prior to retiring.
Mary had made her home in Mansfield for the past three years. She had previously resided for ten years in Marshfield where she was actively involved and started the scrabble club at the Marshfield Senior Center, and was also a member of the Marshfield Historical Society.
Mary’s favorite times spent were those amongst family and friends. She will always be remembered for her marvelous cooking skills and along with her husband, enjoyed traveling; her favorite point of destination being their daughter Britt’s home in California.
In addition to her beloved husband of 49 years, she is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Kristen M. Lyle and her husband Christopher of Mansfield and Britt E. Lindberg and her partner Michael Gusovsky of San Jose, California. She was the cherished grandmother of Robert D. Lyle and William C. Lyle both of Mansfield. She was the dear sister of the late Peter Bagarella and is also survived by her sister in law Joanne (Stec) Bagarella of Quincy and niece Amanda Bagarella of Quincy.
Her funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, August 27th at 10:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 26th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Mary’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Marshfield Council On Aging, 230 Webster St., Marshfield, MA 02050 or the Marshfield Historical Society, 65 Webster St., Marshfield, MA 02050.
