Obituary

Doris C. (Plante) Lapointe, 82, formerly of Salem, died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, on Thursday, August 20, 2015, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Lawrence B. ‘Laurent’ Lapointe.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Amelia (Bouchard) Plante. Doris and Laurent married in 1951 while he was serving with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bennington, Georgia. Following his tour of duty they returned to Salem to begin their family. Over the years, Doris has worked in many varied fields while raising her family.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence M. Lapointe and his wife Maureen of Lynn, David K. Lapointe of Salem, a daughter, Patty Campbell and her husband ‘Bill’ of Beverly, a sister, Lorraine Parsons of Gloucester, five grandchildren, Scott & Elayna Lapointe, Jennifer Belliveau, Melissa Perez, and Stacie Campbell, six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Noah, Cooper, Dean, Caden and Austin as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Cecile Louf & Rita Erwin and great-granddaughter, Grace Belliveau.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave. at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
