Obituary

Walter E. Allen, 76, of Cranston, died surrounded by his children on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Hospice Care of RI Inpatient Center. He was the widow of Brenda E. (Babul) Allen.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Lloyd J.S. and Mary E.R. (Conlon) Allen. He had lived in Cranston for the past nineteen years and had previously lived in Mashpee, MA and Smithfield.

He retired after 50 years from Ciba-Geigy. He served in the US Air Force. He was an avid sports fan and golfer and a passionate Red Sox fan.

He is survived by his children: Kerri Moloney and her husband, Martin, of County Tippary, Ireland, Matthew Allen of Smithfield, Judy Ferreria and her husband, Michael, of Cranston, Jill Morvan and her husband, Mark, of Narraganestt, his stepchildren: Lisa Bowden of Pawtucket, Kathleen Mendoza and her husband, David, of North Providence, Sharyn Stoff and her husband, Ed, of Coventry and James Bowden of Pawtucket, his thirteen grandchildren, his great grandson and great granddaughter and a sister, Mary Siedzik of Greenville. He was the stepfather of the late Tricia M. Bowden and brother of the late Lloyd and Robert Allen and Barbara Hoppe.

Funeral Saturday at 8am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Home, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Holy Apostle Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Burial to follow in Rhode Island Veteran Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Friday 4-7pm.
