ATTLEBORO: Geraldine “Gerri” (Giancola) Forsythe, 93, died Monday, August 17, 2015 in the Golden Living Center of Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Sidney Forsythe.
Born in Danvers on June 2, 1922, she was the natural born daughter of the late John and Carmela (Yandola) Barillaro and was raised by Jerome and Mildred Giancola. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and had resided in Beverly for many years before moving to Attleboro thirty years ago. Gerri had once owned and operated a beauty salon in Beverly for many years.
She is survived by niece, Joan E. Northway of Chelsea; a nephew, John E. Lantych and his wife, Catherine (Santoro) of Danvers; two great-nieces, Krista Stellato and her husband, Sean and Gena Gablais and her husband, Michael and several great-great-nieces. She was also predeceased by her three sisters, Mary and Josephine Lantych and Grace Casali and three brothers, Dominick, Vincent and John Barillaro.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be in North Beverly Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre St., Boston, MA 02130-3495.
