Obituary

SALEM - Margaret A. (Marraffa) Rizzotti, 99, of Bridgewater, formerly of Salem, wife of the late Frank Rizzotti, died peacefully Monday, August, 17,2015 at the Brockton Hospital, following a short illness and just months before her 100th birthday.

Raised in Salem’s close knit Italian community, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Gaetana (Pimpo) Marraffa and was a resident of Salem for more than 70years before moving to Lynnfield, Danvers and ultimately to Bridgewater in 2004.

Prior to her retirement in 1980, Margaret was employed for many years as the payroll coordinator for GTE Sylvania on Boston Street in Salem.

Like her mother, Gaetana, Margaret loved helping others especially children and family, and enjoyed plants and flowers of all kinds. She was a parishioner of the former St. Mary’s Italian Church in Salem, until it’s closing, and served on the Board of Trustees for the Plummer Home on Winter Island Road in Salem. Margaret was also a member of the Stone Meadow Residents Association in Bridgewater.

Mrs. Rizzotti is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Grace Ann and Louis Spychalski, Jr. of Lynnfield, and her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kathleen Rizzotti of Bridgewater, three grandchildren, Louis Spychalski, III and his wife Sheila of Danvers, Mark and his wife Patricia Spychalski of Lynnfield, and Frank W. Rizzotti of Bridgewater, two great grandchildren, Louis Spychalski, IV of Danvers, Patrick Louis Spychalski of Lynnfield. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Salvatore “Sonny” Rizzotti of Florida, a sister-in-law Grace Rizzotti McElmon of Salem, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight siblings, Jenny Foti, Mary Okker, Angela D. Corrao, Florence M. Femino, Anthony Marraffa, Rosario C. “Sorio” Marraffa, John A. Marraffa, and Salvatore R, “Sub” Marraffa.

Her funeral service will include a visitation to be held Thursday from 9 to 11 am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem.
