George J. Tylus age of Andover, MA, died Friday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA after a long illness
He was born in Lawrence, MA, where he grew up and attended schools, and graduated from Lawrence High School. He was a resident of Andover, MA for the past 5 years, formerly of Lawrence, MA. He was the son of the late Frank & Karolina (Konfort) Tylus
Mr. Tylus was a retired Window Trimmer-Display Decorator for FH Hitchcock & AB Sutherlands in Lawrence, MA. He also worked for Cahill Displays in Boston, MA, Cherry, Webb & Touraine, and McClays Florist. He was a life long member of St. Patrick Church in So. Lawrence, MA. He was in the Chorus at St. Mary’s Church and St. Patrick’s in Lawrence. He also played the church organ for St. Mary’s. He enjoyed reading, playing the church organ, and making decorative pieces.
He was predeceased by his wife Geraldine M. (Leonard) Tylus
He was also predeceased by a sister Nellie Jurek
He is survived by 3 Sons: George L. “Sonny” & his wife Janice Tylus of Salem, NH
Paul & his Wife Sheila Tylus of Danvers, MA
Russell Tylus of Methuen, MA
2 Daughters: Karoline & her Husband Richard Baillargeon of Methuen, MA
Bernice & her Husband Thomas Karagiorgos of Andover, MA
2 Brothers: Joseph & his Wife Laura Tylus of No. Andover, MA
Benjamin Tylus of Florida
6 Grandchildren: Lynn Delaney, Lisa Tylus, Michael Tylus, Matthew Tylus, Yanny & Stepho Karagiorgos. 2 Great Grandchildren: Zachary & Madison Delaney
A memorial Mass will be private for the family at St. Patrick Church, So. Lawrence, MA.
