Tara McWhorter Tucker, 42, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Robert Couey officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Tucker was born November 13, 1972, in Tifton, Georgia to Marsha Biggers McWhorter and the late Dr. Charles L. McWhorter. A 1991 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, she attended East Central Technical College where she took courses in Computer Information and Web Design. She went to state in the GOAL program and appeared in Who’s Who. She enjoyed arts and crafts, especially making jewelry. She had a love for animals of all kinds, particularly dogs and cats.
She is survived by her husband of 15 years: George Michael Tucker; her mother: Marsha McWhorter; a sister: Lisa Kay Hunter; two brothers: Charles Lee McWhorter, II and Luie Alexander McWhorter; niece, Brianna Leigh Stone; and a nephew, Colton Jett Hunter, all of Fitzgerald. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her father.
