Mrs. Frances L. (Shea) DiPietro, a long time resident of Medford, at age 99, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015, due to natural causes. Frances is survived by her son John “Skipper” and his wife Beverly DiPietro of Woburn; two grandsons, Michael Saviano, Jr. of Salem, New Hampshire and John Saviano of Wilmington; granddaughter, Brenda Ruisi and great-granddaughter, Sophia Ruisi also of Woburn and son-in-law, Michael Saviano, Sr. of Atkinson, New Hampshire. Frances joins in peace her husband John DiPietro, of 68 years, and her daughter, Janice Saviano. Frances was pre-deceased by her two sisters Beatrice Schofield and Florence Lloyd.
Frances worked at Jay’s Department Store and Mahoney’s Garden Center, but most importantly she traveled throughout New England delivering signs for her husband’s business, Realty Sign Service, in Medford for many years. Frances and her husband, John, were long time members of the Riverside Yacht Club, where they enjoyed taking long boating trips. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed beach buggying, where she was a member of the Mass Beach Buggy Association, but not as much as she enjoyed her family and friends.
Frances was a remarkable energetic independent woman. She managed daily life activities and lived independently until just recently. She looked toward to the holidays where she could enjoy cooking Italian food for her family. She had a good heart and many accomplishments. She will be deeply missed.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
