Mulcahy, Mary (Folan) of Quincy at the age of 96, May 8, 2005.
Beloved wife of the late Patrick J. Mulcahy. Loving Mother of Ruth M. Fernald of Quincy, James A. Mulcahy and Patricia J. Welch both of Dorchester. Devoted Sister of Bridget Jackson of Ireland, Margaret Rogers of Taunton and John Folan of Dorchester and the late Catherine McCarthy and James & Patrick Folan. Mary is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Thursday at 9 AM.
Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.
Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
Mary came over to the United States from Spiddal , County Galway, Ireland in 1927 at the age of 19. She stayed with her family in Everett, until she married Patrick J. Mulcahy in 1933. Mary began working for various prominent families in Boston in many different capacities. She raised her family in Medford, then moved to Roxbury and then to South Boston, She moved to Quincy in 1975. She was a devoted mother and grandmother of her family. She worked for more than 60 years before retiring at the age of 75.
