WORCESTER-Apostolos Exarchos, 83, of 32 Woodbine Street, died Sunday, May 8th in UMass Memorial Hospital. He leaves his wife of 53 years Helen (Maretsi) Exarchos, 2 daughters, Christine Kitsilis of Cumberland, RI and Angela Exarchos of Key West, FL, a brother, Philip Exarchos and a sister Sofia both of Athens, Greece and 6 grandchildren, Vasilios, Apostolos and Alexandria Kitsilis and Stephanie, John and Nicholas Piraino.
He was born in Epirus, Greece the son of Athanasios and Anastasia Exarchos and came to the United States in 1957. He had served in the Greek Army. Mr. Exarchos had been a baker for the Table Talk Pie for 27 years, retiring in 1982. In Greece Mr. Exarchos had been a barrel maker and artisan. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
The funeral is Thursday, May 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service at 10:30 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 11th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
