Obituary

Bridgewater- Stephen S. Macedo 80 died Sunday May 8, 2005 at home in Bridgewater due to complications of Parkinsons Disease. He was the Husband of Hilda (Sylvia) Macedo of Bridgewater. He was the Father of Stephen William Macedo of Plymouth Ma., Dianna Tavares of Bridgewater, Ma., and Philip Macedo of S. Dartmouth. Grandfather of Angela Tavares, Lauren Tavares-Mulhern, and Camryn I. Macedo, Great Grandfather of Abigail Mulhern. He is also survived by an Uncle James Macedo of Fairhaven and a cousin Maria R. Araujo of Freetown. .

Mr. Macedo was formerly employed at Acushnet Company as a Pressman for 35 Yrs, until his retirement. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 413th Co.A Infantry Regiment also Known as the Timberwolves in the European Theater and he received a Bronze star. He was a cub scout master of pack II. A member of Mt Carmel Srs and was the 1st Treasurer of Our lady of Mount Carmel P.T.A. and a lifelong Communicant of the Church. He enjoyed square dancing and camping with the Wampanoag Camping Club.

Mr. Macedo was born in New Bedford Ma. He has lived in this area most of his life. He was the son of the late Maria Rosario (Medeiros) and Manuel S. Macedo

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wedneday May 11 , 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4-7 P.M., on Tuesday May 10 , 2005 at Perry Funeral Home.
