In Brockton, August 13, 2015 Ann J. (Barrett) Wade, Age 78, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, following a brave fight with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Disease. Ann was preceded in death by her husband David Wade. She was born in Attleboro, the daughter of the late Francis & Margaret (Heffell) Barrett. Ann has been a resident of Taunton and was formerly of Rehoboth. Ann owned the Handy Store in Rehoboth with her husband David. She then worked for the Commonwealth of MA at Bridgewater State Hospital and then at Paul E. Dever State School. Ann volunteered at the Taunton Animal Shelter, where she rescued her beloved dog Gloria. Ann was a member of the Raynham Senior Center, Cranberry Quilters and the Woolsley Quilters. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and making many of her loved ones clothes, reading, gardening and above all was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family. Ann leaves her children Marianne Burke and her partner Gunars Lacis of East Lyme, CT., David Wade Jr. of FL., Jacqueline Norton and her husband David of Middleboro, Susan Wade of Quincy, Julie Wade and her partner John Bougas of Taunton and Holly Wade-Kelly and her husband Brian of Hull. Ann also leaves her loving grandchildren David, Eric, Emily, Robert, Alex, Julia, Ethan, Jillian, Benjamin, Kaylee, Brayden and Barrett. Ann also leaves her siblings Jacqueline Taillard of S.C., Sandra Eliason of Milford and her late siblings Francis Barrett, Gordon Barrett, Lorraine (Mickey) Gish, Richard Barrett and Ronald Barrett. Ann also leaves several nieces and nephews and many close friends. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Tuesday, August 18th at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday from 5-8 pm. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
