Obituary

Julia Marie Hassan, 17, of Lowell, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, August 11th, 2015 while hiking with Friends in the Franconia National Park. She was born in Lowell and was educated at Greenhalge Elementary School, Butler Middle School and was part of the 2015 graduating class from the Latin Lyceum at Lowell High School. Julia was planning on attending Marywood University in the fall she was going to major in Music Therapy and was planning on working with Autistic Children.

Julia was very active in school she was a member of the Marching and Concert Bands as well as being a Drum Major her senior year in the Marching Band. She was a member of the Jazz and Pit Bands as well. She was very involved in the Lincoln-up Program at the Lowell High School, she was a member of the National Honor Society, and was President of the Tri-M Honor Society. She was a Tech Crew Ninja and was very involved in the Musicals and Plays at the Lowell High School. She was a member of the UMass Lowell Senior Wind Ensemble this past spring and of the Lowell National Historical Park Theatre Group. She was also in choir at her parish Saint Anthony’s Church in Lawrence, MA.

She leaves behind her Mother Theresa M. J. (Cooney) Hassan of Lowell, MA.

She was predeceased by her Father Bernard S. Hassan

She also leaves behind her brothers Nathaniel Hassan and Anthony Hassan and
Her sister Rebecca Hassan all of Lowell, Massachusetts

Her Paternal Grandparents John and Leslie Hassan of Dracut, MA
Her Maternal Grandparents William and Helen Cooney of Florida

Her Aunts and Uncles Neal and Vatina, Andrea and Michael, Bill and Tarrah, Dan and Kim, James and Michelle, Megan and Nate, Great Auntie Christine. As well as several cousins and very close friends.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to call on Sunday, August 16th, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 17th, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Anthony’s Maronite Church in Lawrence, MA. Her burial will follow in Saint Anthony’s Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
