Patricia Ann (Bailey) White of Plymouth, MA, formerly of Duxbury, MA, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at her home on Great Herring Pond, with family by her side, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. She was 79 years old.
Patty was born July 3,1936 and lived in Kingston, MA. After graduating from Kingston High School in 1954, she married Bob and together they started their family in Duxbury, MA. Pat was a Sunday School teacher at First Parish Church in Duxbury, and participated in the American Legion shows. She also played a strong leadership role for many years in the Girl Scouting program in Duxbury. She hosted many annual 4th of July parties and Bailey family reunions on Great Herring Pond, first as their summer cottage and then as their permanent residence, AKA "the octagon." Many family and friends cherish fond memories of times spent with her at Great Herring Pond.
The wife of the late Robert G. White, to whom she was married for 47 years; she was loving mother to Sandra White of Duxbury, MA, Gerald and Deborah White of Oquossoc, ME, Judith Livera of Plymouth, MA, and the late Robert B. White. She was beloved "Mimi" to seven grandchildren: Robert and Nickolas Cline, Lauren and Eric White, and Frank, Joseph and Andrew Livera. She was "Great Mimi" to Brayden Johnson. She was the daughter of the late Jeanne F. (Penniman) Brown and the late Lawrence W. Bailey. She was the sister of Nancy Sawyer of Plymouth, MA, Jacqueline Smith-Miller of Duxbury, MA, David and Sally Brown of Hamilton, OH, James Sederberg and Janet Brown-Sederberg of Bridgewater, MA, the late Sylvia Shorey, and the late Merry Dufault. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, (Route 106), Kingston, on Sunday, August 23, 2015, from 11:00 AM-12:00 NOON. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 NOON. The family welcomes you to participate by sharing any stories, readings or reflections that honor her memory. Afterwards, all are invited to the octagon at Great Herring Pond to continue the celebration of her life at the place she loved most.
Burial will be private.
