Obituary

Willie Bryan Dickens, 100, of Rome, formerly of Omega, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Chulio Hills Health and Rehab in Rome. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Omega Baptist Church with Rev. Parker Hulsey officiating. Buddy Lindsey will give a eulogy. Mrs. Dickens will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Omega Baptist Church.

Wade Crumley, Trey Adams, Clint Adams, Sean Perryman, Danny Dickens and Sanford Perryman will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Dickens was born June 22, 1915 in Tift County, the daughter of Sanders Amos Bryan and Lula Willis Bryan Marchant, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Clifton Dickens; a daughter, Winona Nation; two sisters, Evelyn Bryan Clark and Marylene Marchant Whittington; and one brother, Denver Bryan. She was a homemaker and the oldest living and active member of Omega Baptist Church. She was very active in the Omega community.

Mrs. Dickens is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kay Dickens Gaines Wooten and husband Leon of Rome; two brothers, Billy Marchant and Wright Marchant, both of Tifton; one sister, Merle Perryman of Sylvester; four grandchildren and their spouses, Kim Gaines Smith and husband Robert, Johna Gaines Jenkins and husband Todd, Cindy Nation Kirksey and husband Eddie and Terri Nation Marken and husband Jeff; three great-grandchildren, Jessica Kirksey Byrley, Becky Marken and Jena Kate Jenkins; and two great-great grandchildren, Joanna Byrley and Isabelle Byrley.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Omega Baptist Church, 219 Oak Street, Omega, GA 31775.
