Obituary


Guy W. Riley passed away August 11, 2015 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH surrounded by his loving family after an extended illness. He was born in Manchester, NH on December 11, 1932, the son of Earl Riley, Sr. and Lena Irene (Emery) Riley.
He attended local schools and graduated from Central High School in 1951. He was an Army veteran and served in the military from 1955-1957. Guy worked as a customer service representative for Buskens Shoe Company and Anchor Electric. After retiring he worked part time at Dobles/Quirk Chevrolet. He was an assistant coach at South Little League and was always involved in his children’s activities. Later on he could be found cheering on his grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
He was predeceased by his parents and his 4 brothers; Earl Jr., Reginald (Sip), Lester (Spike) and Webster (Mike) Riley; 3 sisters, Irene Riley, Bette Trombly and Rita Hamel. Family members include his wife of 58 years Pauline (LaLiberte) Riley; his daughter Diane Chartrand and her husband Mark; his son Craig Riley and his wife Heather. 5 Grandchildren, Christopher Chartrand and his wife Kristina of Lawrence Kansas; Stephanie (Chartrand) Billingsley and her husband Tim; Ryan Chartrand and his wife Lisa; Joey Riley and Delaney Riley all of Manchester, NH. 6 great grandchildren Ali, Kiley, Kieran and Kami of Kansas and Chase and Harper Billingsley of Manchester. 1 brother, Bruce Riley of Cape Coral, FL 3 sisters, Lee Archambault of Nashua NH, Patricia Comer and Fran Philibotte both of Manchester. He also leaves behind many nephews and nieces and close friends who know that he would always be there whenever they needed anything. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Riley.
He was a gentle, loving and caring husband, father, Grampa, “Bumpa” and uncle who will be missed.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2015 in Blessed Sacrament Church, So Elm St. Burial with military honors followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in his name to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd, Merrimack NH 03054.
