SPENCER: Lorraine G. (Baribeault) Dufault 93, of 98 Maple St.,died Tuesday, August 11 in Christopher House in Worcester.
She leaves her daughter Marilyn E. Lussier and her husband George of Rutland, 5 grandchildren; Michelle Linn and her husband Frank Frederickson of Barnstable, Monique LaRose and her husband Andre of Rutland, David Lussier and his wife Jessica of Rutland, Donald Lussier and his wife Meghan of Hopkinton, Nicole Mason and her husband Bill of Rutland, 14 great grandchildren, her brothers Roland Baribeault and his wife Mary of Shrewsbury, and Lionel Baribeault and his wife Janet of Worcester, a sister Leona Valley and her husband Donald of Bridgewater and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Bernard Baribeault and favorite Uncle Charlie LaLiberte who was like a father to her.
She was born in Brockton, the daughter of Roy and Cora (Dube) Baribeault, and moved to Spencer as a young girl and lived here most of her life. Lorraine's first job was as a French cord stitcher with Klevin Shoe Co. Later in life, she attended Brom's Academy of Hairdressing and for 26 years,owned and operated Lorraine's Hair Styling in Spencer, retiring in 1985.
Lorraine enjoyed golf, knitting/crocheting and watching the birds. She was an avid traveler, visiting many foreign countries including Russia and Iceland. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved rocking them as babies.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 14 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main St., Rutland. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th. Flr., New York, NY, 10004.
