Obituary

CHICOPEE – Barbara A. (Rondeau) Tuttle, 79, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on February 19, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Francois and Beatrice A. (Dion) Rondeau. She was raised in Holyoke, graduated from local schools and moved to the Aldenville section of Chicopee around 1963. She was employed for many years as a secretary for the Lacasse Heating and Cooling Company in Chicopee and Holyoke. Barbara was very proud of her French heritage. During her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and working on crossword puzzles. She was a volunteer for many years in the cafeteria at Saint Joan of Arc School in Chicopee. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Active in her faith, she was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald A. Tuttle who was Called Home on January 24, 2003; her former husband and friend, Roger A. Dutilly; and her loving son, John L. Dutilly who was Called Home on November 20, 2013. She leaves her six loving children, David P. Dutilly of Chicopee, Karen M. Croteau and her husband, Denis, of Southampton, Joanne M. Gilbert of Chicopee, Richard A. Dutilly of Oakland Park, FL, Gary F. Dutilly of Springfield and Melissa A. Tuttle of East Sussex, England; her loving daughter-in-law, Denise Dutilly of Bradenton, FL; her five cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Jesse Dutilly and his wife, Elizabeth, Kayla Croteau, Jeremy Gilbert and his wife, Jen, Jeffery Gilbert and his wife, Melissa, and Jaime Gilbert; her seven cherished great-grandchildren; her dear brother, Francis Rondeau and his wife, Connie, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Tuttle, Rondeau and Dutilly families. Her Funeral will be held on Monday morning, August 17, 2015 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Committal Service will follow the Mass at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning, August 17, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
