Lucy Ellen DeMeo of Elm Street, North Providence, died surrounded by her loving family on Friday August 7th, 2015 in her home.
Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of Arthur and Carmela (Petrarca) DeMeo, who dedicated their lives to caring for her at home.
Lucy was the adored godchild and niece of Anna Regine of Cranston and Eli Petrarca of North Providence. She is also survived by her dear sister Sara DeMeo of Exeter, cherished adopted sister Kristen Lynch of Smithfield and all her devoted and wonderful caregivers. Lucy was a participant at the John E Fogarty Center in North Providence for 32 years and prior to that a student at the Cranston Center.
Everyone who met Lucy was touched by her quiet beauty and gentle presence. The last week of Lucy’s life was a parade of caring friends and family who gave her a lifetime of love that will last eternally.
Funeral and Burial will be private. A Memorial Mass in her honor will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 7:00 PM in Saint Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence, RI 02909. In lieu of flowers, donations to the John E. Fogarty Center 220 Woonasquatucket Ave North Providence RI 02911 would be appreciated.
