Margaret Fonseca, 94

Margaret “Maggie” (Nasise) Fonseca, most recently of Attleboro, formerly of Clearwater, Florida, and Norton passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late John M. Fonseca, Sr., to whom she was wed for over 64 years at the time of his death on August 14, 2005.
Born in Boston, MA on April 24, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (D’Angelo) Nasise.
At age six, Maggie, along with her family moved to Norton where she grew up and was educated in Norton public schools.
Mrs. Fonseca was a co-owner of the former Fonseca Food Center on Taunton Ave. in Norton and also ran the former Fonseca’s Meal Mobile in Norton. She was a woman of many talents from her first job, sewing baby clothing to being a nanny to Frank Zappa’s nieces and nephews.
Maggie loved spending time with her adoring family. Her hobbies included painting, sculpturing, playing the organ, writing music and especially crocheting numerous winter hats for her grandchildren.
She was the devoted mother of Carol J. Perry and her husband Ronald of Rehoboth and Largo, Florida and the late John M. Fonseca, Jr. She was the dear sister of Lillian Silvia of Florida and the late Pauline Zappula, Samuel Nasise, James Nasise, Frances Teixera-Patterson, Philip Nasise and Frank Nasise. He was the cherished grandmother of Robert Rei, Kelly Rei, Jonathan Rei, Jason Perry, Anthony Fonseca, Mathew Fonseca, and is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22nd at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will be held privately at a later date at the Norton Center Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flower’s, Maggie’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
