Mrs. Lambert was born September 5, 1928, in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Herbert S. & Lida Clark Bowden. She was a homemaker and retired job trainer with Modern Industries and The Jessamine Place. She was truly a people person. Before her illness, she loved to sing with a little country style. A songwriter, she sang without accompaniment because she said she could sing as high as she pleased whenever she felt the need. She was known by many as “The Chicken Salad Sandwich Lady” since she made the best sandwiches for sings and other fellowship opportunities at Faith Baptist Church, located at the corner of South Lee & West Jessamine Streets. She was also known for her gumbo. She loved to cook and truly enjoyed watching folks enjoy her culinary offerings.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie L. Miller Turner of Fitzgerald; favorite son-in-law, Allen Turner of Pitts; Franklin & Janet Sumner of Fitzgerald, whom she loved dearly and called her baby boy; step-daughter, Alicia & Jack Culhane of Houma, LA; grandchildren and their spouses: Marcy & Chuck Lana of Suwanee, Matt & Teresa Turner of Pitts, Donnie & Mary Palmer of Albany, Anna Palmer Young of Tifton, and Michael Palmer of Reidsville; step-grandchildren: Russell Adams of Houston, TX, R.J. Adams and Jackie Clements, both of Houma, LA; great-grandchildren: Nicholas Lana, Heather Lana, Emily T. Gillie, Jamie Turner, Chad Turner, Matthew Turner, Madison Palmer, Ashton Palmer, Johnny Young, Tina Young, Mike Palmer, Jr., Gracie Palmer, and Dillon Palmer; three step-great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman G. Miller and Frederick J. “Freddy” Lambert; twin boys shortly after their birth; a daughter, Gail F. Palmer Brady; a son, Norman G. Miller, Jr.; as well as all ten of her siblings.
