Charles Francis Ryan

Framingham: Charles Francis Ryan, 100, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, August 7, 2015.
He was the born in the family residence on December 10, 1914 in Williamstown the son of the late Anne (Fleming) Ryan and Francis A. Ryan.
Charles was blessed with two happy marriages to the late Irene M. (White) Ryan from 1943 to 1976 and the late Mary Rose (Twomey) Ryan from 1988 to 2006. He was the beloved father of Charlene (Ryan) Murphy of Natick. Cherished grandfather of Sarah Murphy of Falmouth and Rachel Murphy Latessa and her husband David of Westfield, NJ. Loving great-grandfather of Sophie, Zachary and Benjamin Latessa all of Westfield, NJ. He was the uncle of Roger O. White and his family of Hoosick Falls, NY and several other family and friends.
He graduated from Williamstown High School and Williston Academy in 1935 and from Bentley College in 1937. He served his country proudly as a Technician – 4th Grade with the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operation from Dec. 1942 to Jan. 1946. He had a long and dedicated career as Manager of Inventory Control and Accounting at Sprague Electric in North Adams.
Charles served on the Town of Williamstown Finance Committee from 1957 to 1960 and was a member of St. Patricks Parish in Williamstown. He was a lifelong resident of Williamstown and resided at Carmel Terrace in Framingham for the past five years. He was and an avid New England sports fan and loved living in the Berkshires.
Visitations will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte 30), Wayland.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 9:30 am at the Holy Family Chapel at St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central Street, Framingham.
Interment will be held later in the day on Tuesday in the Ryan family lot in East Lawn Cemetery in Williamstown.
