Richard A. “Gadget Man” Gallacher, age 68, passed away on Aug 4, 2015. He was born on September 18, 1946 in Springfield to the late Dennis J. Sr. and Irene (Mendrala) Gallacher. Richard retired after 38 years as a Springfield Police Officer. He was the Vice President of the Pioneer Valley Blue Knights Chapter. He leaves four sons Richard Gallacher Jr. of Chicopee, Glen Gallacher and his wife Laura of Chicopee, William Gallacher and his wife Evangeline of Chicopee and Charlie Gallacher of Chicopee; one daughter Kim Martyn and her husband Pete of Enfield; one sister Cheryl Connelly and her husband Pat of Chicopee and six grandchildren Brandon, Nathan, Ryan, Ashley, Bradley and Ian He also leaves many nieces. Richard was predeceased by one brother Dennis Gallacher Jr. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 9:00 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Funeral Home service to begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in St Benedict’s Cemetery on Liberty St. in Springfield. Calling Hours will be held on Monday August 10, 2015 from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
