Obituary

John H. “Jack” Rattigan, Jr., 82 of Londonderry, NH died Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. John was born in Manchester, NH on September 16, 1932, a son of the late John H. Rattigan, Sr. and Rosetta (Lamb). John had been a resident of Londonderry for more than 35 years, formerly living in S. Boston, MA. He served in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. John retired in 1991 from the US Postal Service in S. Boston where he worked for 30 years. He was a longtime member of the Mail Handlers Union of Maryland and a member of the Legion of 1000 Men. John was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 3023, both of Derry.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (McDonald) Rattigan of Londonderry, two sons, Damian J. Rattigan of Brockton, MA, and Shane T. Rattigan of E. Bridgewater, MA, two daughters, Ramona J. Collins of Westboro, MA, and Rosetta A. Shaw of E. Bridgewater, MA, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one sister, Delores Lee of Braintree, MA, also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, John H. Rattigan III who died in 1997.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, August 11th from 1 – 5pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, Londonderry.
