Brenda Karrie Faria, 56, of Bellingham died August 1 at home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Providence, RI on July 20, 1959, the daughter of Anibal Ferreira and the late Mary Eleanor (Melanson) Ferreira, Brenda was raised in New Bedford, MA.
Ms. Faria was a graduate of New Bedford High School in 1977 and Southeastern Massachusetts University for her Social Worker’s License.
She had been a hardworking and knowledgeable employee of Bristol Elder Services in Fall River for 28 years.
Being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Brenda was an active member of the local congregation for over 20 years. She enjoyed teaching others the truth found in the Bible, and sharing scriptural hope for the future.
Brenda is survived by her daughter Karrie Whitman and her husband Brandon of Bellingham, her father Anibal Ferreira and his partner Cynthia Atwood of South Dartmouth, her sister Kristine Souza and her husband Randal of East Freetown, her niece Angela of Quincy and her nephew Daniel Souza of New Bedford, her Aunt Deanna of Anchorage, AK and her cousin Amalia Reeves of San Francisco, CA.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 15 at 5:00 p.m. in the Franklin Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 250 Maple St. Franklin, MA 02038.
