Richard F. Rosen, 66 of Wilmington, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at Lahey Hospital Burlington with his family by his side. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Erwin) Rosen with whom he had shared 31 years of marriage.
Born in Charlestown he was the son of the late William J. and Eleanor I. (Getch) Rosen.
A graduate of St. Columbkille High School in Brighton, he began working for the US Postal Service prior to joining the Air Force. A veteran of the Vietnam War he served stateside and in Thailand. Following his tour of duty he returned to the Boston area and worked in the electronics field. Rich’s passion was for computers and he eventually switched his career to become a computer programmer.
Rich was a fun loving guy who had a keen sense of humor. He was devoted to his wife Mary Ann, his family and enjoyed any time spent with his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five brothers, William J. Rosen of Randolph, Robert A. Rosen and his wife Bea of Atkinson, NH, Gerard M. Rosen and his wife Joanne of Milford, Warren J. Rosen and his partner Kathy Nerpouni of Watertown, Mark J. Rosen and his partner Sloat Shaw of Brookline, 3 sisters, Mary Anne Kanakaris of North Reading, his twin, Frances E. Persechini and her husband Fred of Collierville, TN, and Virginia M. Rosen of Braintree. He also leaves two brothers-in-law, Paul A. Erwin and his wife Debbie of Salem and Richard A. Erwin and his wife Sue of Potts Camp, MS, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem, [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem. His funeral, in the funeral home will be on Friday,
