James J. Owen, 72, of Derry, NH passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Parkland Medical Center, in Derry, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 30, 1943 in Brighton, MA, a son of the late George and Mary (Fogarty) Owen and he was a resident of Derry for eight years. He was raised and educated in Brighton and was a master plumber for over 30 years.
He is survived by his five children, Agnes Angelone, Judy Dussault, Mary Censabella, James J. Owen Jr., and George F. Owen; nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister, Patricia lambert, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 50 years, Judith (Jones) Owen in 2007 and by his four siblings.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 6, 20115 from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 7th at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry. Following cremation, private graveside services will be held at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, MA.
