MERRITT ISLAND, FL_____Irene D. (Halchowski) Nowicki, 79, of Worcester and Dennisport died Thursday May 5 in Island Health and Rehabilitation Center, Merritt Island after a long illness. Her husband of 40 years, Robert P. Nowicki died in 1987.
Irene is survived by three daughters, Susan I. Parmenter and her husband, Ralph of Webster, Ma; Cheryl L. Klock and her husband Keith of Brewster, Ma; and Candice A. Nowicki of Merritt Island; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Michael and Agnes (Mayder) Halchowski and lived in Worcester much of her life before moving to Dennisport in 1966. In Dennisport Irene and her late husband owned and managed rental properties until their retirement to Florida in 1983. She was graduated from David Fanning High School in 1943. Irene’s interests included traveling during her retirement.
Funeral arrangements under the care and direction of Henry-Dirsa Funeral Service, 33 Ward St., Worcester will be private at the convenience of the family. The family requests that flowers be omitted, memorial contributions may be made to the Patient Activity Fund at Island Health and Rehabilitation Center, 125 Alma Blvd., Merritt Island, Fl; 32953
