Robert M. Whalen age 57 of Canton passed away July 31st at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Boston, he was a lifelong resident of Canton and graduated from Canton High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology. He was the owner and operator of R.M. Whalen Construction for many years and was a member of the Greater Boston Builder’s Assn. He enjoyed restoring vintage Corvettes and spending time with his dog Rocco. Devoted father of Brittany M. Butler and her husband Christopher of Kailua, HI, Robert P., Megan C. and Olivia J. Whalen all of Canton. Grandfather of Christopher J. Butler, Jr. Son of Lucia Whalen (Walsh) of Hingham and the late Michael Whalen. Brother of Michael Whalen of Westwood and Joyce Macrina of Carver. Also survived by his former wife Cheryl Whalen of Canton. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Thursday morning at 10. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
