Alvin W. Tucker, 87, of Clinton, died on Sunday, Aug. 2nd at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Florida “Flo” (Poirier) Tucker of Clinton.
Alvin was born and raised in Marlboro, son of the late John T. and Marion E. (Brown) Tucker. He resided in Hudson for many years and was employed by the Gould National Battery Co. in Marlboro. He later went to work with the W.R. Grace Co. and worked there for many years until his retirement in 1992.He resided in Manchester, NH for 15 years until most recently moving to Clinton where he and his wife Flo have spent the past 8 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Lancaster.
Alvin and Flo shared many wonderful times together throughout their 68 years of marriage. They enjoyed playing cards and socializing with their close friends. They always looked forward to those special road trips they would take together, maybe a day trip here or there or a long trip across the country. He enjoyed watching television in his spare time but most of all cherished the times he shared with his family, especially with his grandchildren and later great grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his five children, Richard Tucker of Hudson, Lorraine Fox and her husband James of Roseburg, OR, Michael Tucker and his wife Julie of Hubbardston, Linda Ramelli and her husband Anthony of Madison, NH and Paul Tucker and his wife Carol of Hudson. He was predeceased by his son, George J. Tucker in 2013. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Neil of Marlboro; his 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Elsie Tucker of Marlboro.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 6th at 11:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 809 Main Street, Lancaster, MA. Burial services will be held at a later date in Rocklawn Cemetery, Marlboro. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-¬Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com).
