Ruth W. Taylor, 83, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, August 1, 2015, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Tom Braziel officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Taylor was born January 14, 1932, in Broxton, Georgia, to the late Walter Whaley and Elizabeth Burch Whaley Barber. She worked in the packing department at Lowell Packing Company for over 30 years. She formerly worked for H.R. Kaminsky & Sons. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Arbor Baptist Church where she was active in the Seekers Sunday school class as well as the Young-at-Heart.
She is survived by her children and their spouses: Sandy & Joe Culpepper and Allen & Theresa Taylor, all of Fitzgerald; a daughter-in-law, Jan Taylor of Canton; her grandchildren: Zada Taylor, Jason Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Michael Taylor, James Taylor, and Ashley Taylor; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Yvonne & Lazelle McCook of Camilla; and a brother, Foy Whaley of Camilla. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Taylor; two sons, Gary Albert Taylor and James Howell Taylor; a sister, Clara Taylor; and two brothers, J.E. Whaley and Charles Whaley.
