Margaret "Peggy" A. (Hynes) Ford, 90 of Hanson, passed away peacefully after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. Peg was born August 3, 1924, the daughter of the late James & Angie (Hamm) Hynes. She graduated from Whitman High School in 1941. She was the devoted wife of the late Donald L. Ford Sr. for 54 years.
Peg served as the assistant tax collector for the Town of Hanson for 22 years. Along with her husband, she also helped to establish the Donald L. Ford Insurance Agency in Hanson.
She is survived by her two children Donald L. Ford Jr and his wife Linda and Janice F. Colby & her husband Donald.
She was Grandmother to Jill Pratt & her husband Thomas, Jenna Dillon & her husband Michael, Luke Ford, Peter Colby, Ben & Brittany Ford & the late Angela Colby and Great Grandmother to AJ and Ryleigh Dillon.
She also leaves behind her sister Marion Deftos as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings John McAvoy, Leo McAvoy, Mary Picket, Dorothy Milewski, Catherine Kieran, James Hynes, and Barbara Juliano.
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday August 6th at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle)Whitman. Burial will follow in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 5th from 4:00-8:00 PM.
