Elizabeth “Betty” A. (Kelly) Desnoyers, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2015. She was born on April 6, 1948 in Springfield to the late Lawrence and Mary (Herlihy) Kelly. She was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church. Betty graduated from Chicopee High in 1966. She was employed for 17 years as a telephone operator for Aetna Life Insurance Co. She was later employed by Habermans Insurance Co. for 5 years before working for over 23 years as an information tech at Westfield State. She leaves her loving husband Donald Desnoyers of Chicopee; one son Sean Desnoyers and his partner Dina Cressotti and her four children of Springfield; one daughter Katie Desnoyers of Chicopee; one brother John Kelly of Chicopee; three sisters Eileen Curley of Chicopee, Kathleen Tierney and her husband Paul of Wilbraham and Sheila Kelly of Springfield; one grandchild Jameson Desnoyers and many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear lifelong friends. She was predeceased by one sister Mary Haluch. Betty will be remembered for her outgoing personality, generosity and making sacrifices for others. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. A Funeral Service will be held on Wed August 5, 2015 at 10 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee with a Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 11 AM in Mary, Mother of Hope Church. Burial will follow in St Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held on Tue August 4, 2015 from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
