Ronald “Ron” Dale Hester, Sr., 69, of Adel passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Cook Senior Living Center in Adel. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Hester at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. William Davis officiating. Mr. Hester will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Friday, August 7, 2015, from 12:00 noon until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Hester was born March 17, 1946 in Tifton, the son of Robert Hester and Ella Wells Hester, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Hester and Milton Hester; and one sister, Vivian Fletcher. He was a retired radio announcer with WBIT and WDDQ in Adel. He was of the Methodist faith and a Vietnam veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Hester is survived by his wife, Ann Singletary Hester of Adel; two daughters and a son-in-law, Shannon Kay and Mark Phillips of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Shawn Rene Hester of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one son, Ronald Dale Hester, II of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three grandchildren, John Mark Phillips, Kelsey Lynn Phillips and Kylie Rene Phillips.
