Walter E. Clements, 87, of the Salem Community in Ben Hill County, Georgia died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Dorminy Medical Center, Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday, May 6, 2005 at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Land, Jr., Rev. Danny Lovett and Rev. J.A. Clements officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 until 9, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Clements was born December 17, 1917, in Wilcox County, Georgia, to the late John B. and Rosa Taylor Clements. A farmer, he lived in the community most of his life. Mr. Clements was a member, Deacon, former Clerk, Sunday School Teacher and Training Union Director at Salem Baptist Church.
Mr. Clements is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Beverly Clements of Cornelia, GA and Allan and Jan Clements of Ben Hill County; one daughter and son-in-law: Louise and Tim Hall of Ben Hill County; seven grandchildren; one brother: J.B. Clements of Sycamore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Williamson Clements and three sisters.
