WORCESTER-Agnes B. Emco, 87, of 39 Narragansett Avenue, died Tuesday, May 3rd in Webster. She leaves a son, Jefferey J. Emco of Webster, a grandson, Colin P. Emco of Webster, many nephews and nieces. 3 brothers, James, William and Joseph and 5 sisters, Frances, Helen, Anna, Albina and Mary predeceased her.
She was born, the 6th child of 9 siblings, in Worcester the daughter of Adam and Frances (Paythner) Emco and obtained a childhood education degree from UMass Amherst. Mrs. Emco worked as a teacher from the beginning of the development of the Head Start Program for many years until retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and ceramics.
The funeral is Saturday, May 7th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, May 6th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
