Catherine P. “Kay” (Cullinane) O’ Loughlin, of Canton, Formerly of Carver,MA and Marco Island, Florida, passed away unexpectedly Monday May 2, 2005 at The Caritas Norwood Hospital. She was 86 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. O’Loughlin Sr.
Born March 15, 1919, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Burke) Cullinane. She attended and was a graduate of St. Patrick’s School in Cambridge, MA.
She was a secretary at the Charlestown Navy Yard during World War II . She was also a department supervisor for the Signet- Popular Club Plan in Boston. Mrs. O’Loughlin also worked for the Plymouth Rubber Company in Canton , MA for ten years, as a an office manager. She was also a Real Estate Sales Agent for The Pratt Realty Office of Canton , MA for ten years.
Mrs. O’Loughlin was an active member and attended St. John The Evangelist Church in Canton. She was a member of various church groups which included,
The Catholic Charities Organization and The St. Vincent DePaul Society. She was also a Eucharistic Minister at the church and a volunteer at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. Mrs. O’Loughlin was a proud member of the Massachusetts Catholic Women’s Guild.
Mrs. O’Loughlin’s survivors include her two sons, Thomas J. O’Loughlin Jr. and his wife Donna of Canton, MA and John J. O’Loughlin and his wife Lorraine of Norton, MA. She is also survived by her brothers Joseph Cullinane of Woburn,MA, Gerald Cullinane of Lexington,MA and her sisters, Mary Hamilton of Concord , New Hampshire and Eleanor Lamphere of South Boston , MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Thomas J. O’Loughlin III and his wife April of Omaha , Nebraska, Mark E. O’ Loughlin and his wife Tammy of Pompano Beach, Florida, Tracey O’ Loughlin of Easton, MA, Stephen O’ Loughlin also of Easton, MA and Michelle Wybraniec and her husband Stanley of Dartmouth , MA. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Grace, Jack, and Sam O’Loughlin of Omaha, Nebraska, Kylie and Owen O’Loughlin of Pompano Beach, Florida and Jordan and Nathan Wybraniec of Dartmouth, MA.
Her funeral will be held at 9:00 A.M. from the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, (Off Rt. 138 at the Webster Savings Bank), Stoughton , on Friday May 6, 2005, followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial in St. John The Evangelist Church, 700 Washington Street, Canton, MA at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at a later date in the Veterans National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Visiting hours are on Thursday May 5, 2005 from 4 - 9 P.M. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 700 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021 in Kay’s memory, would be appreciated.
