TAUNTON – Mary Laurinda (Duarte) Freitas of Taunton, wife of the late Joseph Freitas, died at Morton Hospital on July 31, 2015.
She was 72.
Born in Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Maria (Peixoto) Duarte.
She had lived in the area since 1961.
Mrs. Freitas was a homemaker for most of her adult life and was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church.
Her favorite pastime was enjoying the company of her family.
Survivors include her son, Edward J. Freitas and his wife Aida of Taunton; her daughter, Linda M. Clark and her husband Richard of Taunton; her brother, Jose Duarte of Faial; three sisters, Mary Lou Almeida of Taunton, Maria Odette Jorge of Raynham and Maria Albertina Brum of Canada; her 4 grandchildren; Alyssa, Kellie and Joseph Freitas and Bryan Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Manuel Peixoto, Antonio Duarte and Maria A. Garcia.
Her funeral will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Aug. 3rd at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 2nd from 5 to 8 p.m.
