Ashland-------Edward “Ed” Wallace Blaisdell, 77, of Ashland, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center while battling Cancer. Born in Granville, New York on September 29, 1937, the son of Raymond and Marion (Langton) Blaisdell formerly of Waterford, VT.
He was a farmer for many years and enjoyed raising several head of Polled Herford. He gave back to his community for many years as a 4-H Leader helping young adults and children get a better understanding of the country life. He was a self contractor that assisted in the rebuilding after the Susquehanna River Flood of 1972 in Pennsylvania. His greatest enjoyment in life was his Dog Breeding company raising Finnish Spitz and Chow’s. His way of relaxing was to go hunting and fishing. He spent all of his life around farm animals.
He is survived by beloved children: John Provan and husband Richard of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Lisa Hoey and husband Michael of Laconia, New Hampshire, James Blaisdell of Center Barnstead, New Hampshire. As well as ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Ed was predeceased by his daughter Candice (Candy) Price (1996) and brother Jiggs Blaisdell, sisters Bernice Barnett and Bobbie Sergeant.
A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be determined.
